    Robert Earl Jones was an actor. He left school while young to work as a sharecropper with his family. He moved to Chicago and then to New York. His first acting part came in 1938. He became one of the first prominent black film stars and was a part of the Harlem Renaissance. He was best known for his roles in Lying Lips, The Sting, The Cotton Club, and Witness. He married Ruth Connolly in 1929 and they divorced in 1934. He had a son, actor James Earl Jones. He then married Jumelle Jones in 1938 and they divorced in 1950. His last marriage was to Ruth Williams in 1960. He had another son Matthew Earl Jones. He lived in the Actors Fund Home in Englewood at the end of his life.

    Delroy George Lindo is an English and American actor. He lived with his parents who were Jamaican immigrants in London until the family moved to Toronto when he was sixteen. He graduated from the American Conservatory Theater in 1979. His career began in 1976 and Lindo mostly focused on theater during the 1980s. He started taking movie roles in the 1990s. He has starred in Malcolm X as Spike Lee, The Chicago Code, Believe, and Blood & Oil. He received a bachelor of arts from San Francisco State University in 2004 and a master's in fine arts in 2014 from New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study. He married Neshormeh in 1990. He had a son, Damiri. He has done several interviews on his experiences as a black actor. Lindo lived in Englewood with his family for a time.

    John Allen Amos Jr. is an actor. Before his acting career, he did social work and played football. His first major work was on The Mary Tyler Moore Show from 1970 to 1973. He is most well-known for his part in Good Times from 1974 to 1976. Amos served as artistic director of John Harms Theater. He married twice, first to Noel Mickelson from 1965 to 1975. He had two children, Shannon and Kelly "K.C." His second marriage was to Lillian Lehman from 1978 to 1979.

    Clark Peters was an actor and director. He grew up in Englewood and attended Dwight Morrow. He moved to London in 1973 and held numerous roles in theater productions. His more notable roles include Detective Lester Freamon in "The Wire," Nelson Mandela in "Endgame," and Albert Lambreaux in "Treme." Peters was also an anti-war activist protesting the Vietnam War. He was twice married and had another romantic relationship. First to Janine Martyne. He had two children, China Clarke and Peter Clarke. He became involved romantically with Joanna Jacobs. He had two more sons, Joe Jacobs and Guppy. His second marriage was to Penny Ephson. He had a son, Max.

    Robert L. Daniels was the manager of Music Manor, a downtown record store. He also was a theater critic and actor. He had three children Marc, Lisa Spaulding, and David. He lived in Little Falls and Oakland before moving to Chatham New Jersey for thirty years.

    John Aprea is an American actor. Aprea is a second-generation Italian immigrant. He is known for his role as Salvatore Tessio in The Godfather: Part II (1972). He also had roles in Falcon Crest, Full House, Matt Houston, and The Sopranos.

    He was born in Englewood and attended St. Cecilia High School and Dwight Morrow High School. His parents owned a store, California Market on Palisade Avenue.

    He married Cherie Latimer but they separated. His second marriage was to Ninon Zenovich in 1987. They divorced in 1998. His third marriage was to Betsey Graci in July 2016. He has one daughter, Nicole.

He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his roles in Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Pulp Fiction (1994). He also sang numerous solo and collaborative albums. Most famously he sang "You're the One that I Want" with Olivia Newton-John in 1977.

    Travolta was born in Englewood to Salvatore "Sam" and Helen Cecilia Burke Travolta. He was one of six children. His siblings were Ellen, Margaret, Anne, Sam, and Joey. They all pursued careers in entertainment. He married Kelly Preston in 1991. He had three children, Jett, Ella Bleu, and Benjamin
