Kelly was the Secretary of the New Jersey Association of Motion Pictures and chair of the contact bureau of the Motion Picture Association.
Kelly owned the Englewood Theater and Realty Corp, which owned the Plaza Theater on Van Brunt Street. He also owned the Palisade Theater Corp, which owned the Grant Lee theater at Palisade Junction and Westwood Theater Company, which owned the Westwood Theater.
